Lucian Freud Born in Berlin in 1922. Lucian Freud came to England with his parents in 1931 and acquired British nationality in 1939. He attended to Central School of Arts and Crafts, London, East Anglican School of Painting and Drawing, and Dedham under Cedric Morris during 1939 to 1942. In 1951, he received Purchase Prize from Arts Council of Great Britain for Interior in Paddington exhibited in Sixty Paintings for '51 as part of the Festival of Britain, and since then he has built up a formidable reputation as one of the most powerful contemporary figurative painters. «back |
